Legal team requests mental health evaluation for man accused of entering the Missouri State Capital with a gun in May

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Alok Rohra's legal team is requesting a mental health evaluation on June 15.

Rohra is accused of entering the Missouri State Capital with a gun on May 10.

He has been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm. Rohra pleaded not guilty on May 11.

The mental health evaluation will try to determine whether Rohra is a danger to the community, whether he knew what he did was wrong or whether he should be allowed to assist in his own defense.

He is currently being held at the Cole County Jail without bond. A Cole County judge refused to change Rohra's bond on May 31.
