Crash causes westbound lanes of I-70 to be shut down for 30 minutes

Emergency crews responded to a crash on the Missouri River Bridge on Monday afternoon.

MODOT officials said both westbound lanes of traffic were closed for at least 30 minutes as officers worked to clear the crash.

Westbound traffic was detoured on to US Route 40 at mile marker 121.

The crash caused significant delays and drivers were being warned to stay away from the area.

The crash has been cleared but officials warned that traffic may still be moving slowly as the congestion clears.

ABC 17 is hearing reports that at least one person had to be extricated from a vehicle. Our crews have reached out to officials to learn more about the crash.
