Columbia home catches fire on Baseline Place
UPDATE – 8:30 A.M.: Everyone is safe after a fire does significant damage to a north Columbia home.
Emergency crews responded to the 5400 block of Baseline Place just after 7 a.m. Monday to find flames coming out of the second story window.
All occupants had already evacuated when emergency crews arrived and officials say the smoke detectors in the home were operational.
While investigators have yet to determine what started the fire, they believe the point of origin was on the second floor of the building.

The fire did substantial damage to the home and crews say the residents will likely need to find somewhere else to live for the time being.
