Columbia police looking for man accused of assaulting woman, damaging her property

Columbia police are looking for a man accused of assaulting a victim and damaging their property.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Oak Street on March 8 for reports of a domestic assault. Elijah Fox-Brown was accused of punching the victim in the face multiple times and pushing her through a cast iron railing.

Officers said Brown also broke the victim’s cell phone and pulled the gear shifter from her car, which disabled it.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim had multiple injuries including, a swollen upper lip, a lump on her right forearm with bruising, and a small cut to the palm of her right hand.

Police said Brown fled from the scene before police arrived.

Officers said the victim was very afraid of retribution from Brown. She was crying and seemed hesitant to give any information to law enforcement.

Brown has been charged with domestic assault.
