Newly revived Audrain County K-9 unit assists with multiple arrests

Audrain County deputies arrested three people on suspicion of drugs with the help of their newly revived K-9 unit.

Sheriff Matt Oller wrote in a Facebook post, “The knowledge of how drug abuse affects the community as a whole was a large factor in my decision to revive the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office K-9 program.”

Oller said the first two days “on duty” for K-9 Chal has been busy.

On Tuesday, deputies arrested Dayton Crum after finding six grams of methamphetamine.

On Wednesday evening, deputies arrested Bruce Cartwright after officers found THC Extract.

On Wednesday night, deputies arrested Miranda Sutphin after finding marijuana and Xanax without a prescription. Officers said K-9 Chal was called to the scene after Sutphin seemed overly nervous.
