Jefferson City woman injured in single vehicle crash

On Thursday at 3:55 p.m., the Jefferson City Police Department responded to Linden Drive at the US 54 over pass for a motor vehicle crash with injuries.

According to the crash investigation, a 2009 Hyundai Tucson ran off the west side of the road and struck a bridge pillar for the US 54 overpass.

Debra Spurgeon, 56, of Jefferson City, who was driving the vehicle, was taken to University Medical Center after first going to a local hospital. Spurgeon was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The Jefferson City Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
