Moberly City officials say water levels are back to normal; residents don’t need to conserve anymore

Mary West-Calcagno, the director of public utilities for Moberly, told ABC 17 News at 8 a.m. Thursday that residents no longer need to conserve water like they were advised to on Wednesday. Calcagno said the water levels are back to normal.

Calcagno met with city leaders Thursday morning to receive an update on the water main break. She tells ABC 17 News;

There were no leaks overnight. Crews will start testing bacteria levels at 12 points around the city. The results will take 24-hours to get back. Once they get the tests back they will have a better idea of when the boil order could be lifted. The water main is still in a temporarily fixed status. Crews are working to narrow down the problem area.

The boil order is still in effect. The city is asking residents to drink from water bottles or boil their water for at least five minutes before drinking.
