Winter weather advisory in Mid-Missouri

There is a winter weather advisory scheduled for 2:00 p.m. today through 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Mixed precipitation is expected. Snow accumulation will be light, but the chance for ice and snow warrants the advisory.

ABC 17 News spoke to Columbia Public Works this morning. They are currently prepping the roads for the conditions. Crews are working in the more high risk zones, such as bridges, hills, and curbs. Barry Dalton, spokesperson for Columbia Public Works, said, “we foresee the snow starting at 7:00 p.m. tonight.”

We are also in contact with Boone County Public Works.They expect snowfall to start at 8:00 p.m. tonight.
