Cole County man charged with shooting a gun at woman’s head

A Cole County man has been charged with shooting a gun at a person after he was accused of shooting several rounds near a woman’s head.

Jefferson City police said they responded to the 300 block of Locust Street for reports of Dyshon Ford having a fight with a female victim.

Ford was accused of firing several rounds near the woman’s head and hitting the victim in the head with the magazine from the handgun.

Officers said Ford tried to hide the magazine in the grass.

Witnesses told police they heard three shots come from the area.

Ford admitted to officers that he fired one round up into the air at the beginning of the fight. He said the woman turned on him so he used the magazine to hit her in the head.

Ford said the fight was about the woman destroying his television after doing drugs and having sex.

The woman told Ford that she robs people and could pay him back after robbing someone.

According to the probable cause statement, Ford is a convicted felon and has numerous arrest charges for weapon offenses.

Ford was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
