Wanted Columbia man found in locked closet

Columbia police arrested Braeden Williams on Monday night after officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Oakwood to look for a wanted man.

When officers knocked on the door to the apartment, Williams answered it. Police said he had an outstanding felony warrant.

Officers said when Williams noticed who was at the door, he slammed it shut and locked it.

Police saw Williams run out of the back door, which led to the rest of the apartment building.

Officers said they searched the building and did not find Williams, until they found a locked closet in the basement.

A K-9 unit was called to the scene to help officers get Williams out of the closet.

Williams faces possible charges of resisting or interfering with an arrest and has warrants for burglary and a traffic offense. He has a bond of $100,000.
