Columbia police arrest man accused of an attempted armed robbery

According to the probable cause statement, Jordan has a lengthy criminal background with charges that include assault, armed criminal action and resisting arrest.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police arrested Antoine Jordan on Thursday after officers were called about an assault.

Police said the investigation revealed that a 17-year-old male victim was inside a house in the 600 block of Wilkes Boulevard when Jordan showed a gun and tried to take his property.

Officers said they found Jordan at the residence and also found two guns, including one that matched the description of the gun used during the robbery.

Jordan faces possible charges of armed criminal action and robbery.
