Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney continues to seek justice for Carl DeBrodie

The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney, Christopher Wilson, released a statement on Thursday about the death investigation of Carl DeBrodie.

Wilson said local, state and federal law enforcement investigators have worked diligently to determine what happened to DeBrodie and when it happened.

In the statement, Wilson calls the investigation complex. He also says all investigative agencies are dedicated to seeking justice on behalf of DeBrodie and his family.

The investigation into DeBrodie’s death was completed in mid-October. When it was finished, federal prosecutors requested that the death investigation be submitted to federal authorities for review before it was turned over to local prosecutors.

The request would allow federal prosecutors to consider any federal charge that may come from the death investigation while following federal procedure.

The complete death investigation was provided to the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on Jan. 11.

Wilson said he has “every intention of honoring his ethical obligation, preserving the integrity of the investigation and respecting DeBrodie’s family by keeping them informed of developments in the case.”

Wilson also said that the recent filing of the civil suit by the DeBrodie family will have no impact on the death investigation.

Wilson finished his statement by saying, “Our office will continue to work with the DeBrodie family, as well as local, state and federal authorities to seek justice for Carl.”
