One lane of I-70 Eastbound closed due to outside fire

Emergency crews responded to I-70 mile marker 110 for reports of an outside fire.

ABC 17 crews on scene said one eastbound lane of traffic is closed while crews work the scene.

Firefighters said the fire was caused by a burning tire but officers have not been able to find the car associated with the tire.

No injuries have been reported.

Boone County Joint Communications officials reported there is traffic congestion in the area and drivers have been asked to consider an alternate route.
