Boonville police arrest man accused of choking, kidnapping woman

Boonville police arrested Brian Anderson on Monday after officers responded to the 800 block of West Ashley Road for reports of assault.

According to the probable cause statement, Anderson responded to a residence in the area and would not leave when the victim asked him to.

Police said Anderson shoved the victim onto a bed and held her down. Anderson was also accused of putting his hands around the victim’s neck and choking her.

Officers said the victim had marks on her neck and arms that were consistent with being choked and grabbed. She also had a small bruise on her arm.

The victim told police that Anderson had her phone and kept it from her, preventing her from calling for help.

According to the probable cause statement, Anderson has two prior convictions for assault.

Anderson was charged with domestic assault, kidnapping and trespassing.
