COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

After recent rains have caused flooding in Mid-Missouri, Columbia Parks and Recreation has given an update on trail conditions.

Officials say to use caution when cycling on bridge decks or paved trails where a thin layer of mud or gravel remains. Those areas will continue to be slippery until the trail dries out.

Never enter moving water on low-water bridges. Bridge decking WILL be slippery and we all know that's not a good idea!

MKT Trail: All underpasses have been cleared of debris with no reports of washouts.

Bear Creek Trail: Rough, uneven trail conditions exist from Cosmo Park to Garth Nature Area.

Hinkson Creek Trail: Grindstone to Capen Park, no issues. We will edit this post later today with additional information for the trail headed west.

Grindstone Creek Trail: Low water bridges no longer have standing water and will be cleared by the end of the day, Friday, May 6.

County House Trail: Debris and flooding near Chapel Hill underpass have been cleaned/are no longer an issue. The Stadium underpass will be cleared by the end of the day or first thing Monday, the section is passable but use caution.

Hominy Creek Trail: Water is still flowing under I-70. Crews will check again on Monday morning.
