Columbia police arrest man accused of leaving the scene of an accident

UPDATE 1/5: Prange was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with damages exceeding $1000.

According to the probable cause statement, Prange admitted to officers that he drank in excess the night of the crash and did not remember many things from the night.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police arrested Bryce Prange after officers were dispatched to a leaving the scene of an accident on Monday in the 5400 block of Hunley Court.

Police said a Chevrolet pickup hit another car and left the scene of the crash.

On Thursday, officers noticed a pickup that matched the description of the vehicle that was involved in the crash. Prange was the driver of the car.

Prange admitted he was driving the truck on Monday night but did not remember hitting anyone.

Prange faces possible charges of leaving the scene of an accident and had a previous warrant for failing to appear for driving with a revoked or suspended license, no insurance and failing to register a vehicle.
