UPDATE: One arrested after SWAT enters home in central Columbia

UPDATE: One man is arrested after police respond to large police presence in Central Columbia Thursday.

Police arrested Ralawndo Damar-Kelly Akers at Red Roof Inn at 12 p.m. Thursday.

Officers served a narcotics search warrant at Akers home at 1808 Parkade Boulevard.

Detectives found an ounce of methamphetamine, six firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories.

ORIGINAL: Multiple police office responded to the corner of Parkade Boulevard and Leslie Lane on Thursday morning.

Police told ABC17 that officers served a search warrant to one of the residences in the area at 8 a.m. Officers could not give any more information about the warrant but did say the investigation is ongoing.

ABC17 crews on scene have seen a SWAT team and a Crime Scene Unit in the area. Crews have also witnessed a residence’s door knocked down.
