Columbia police arrest man accused of hitting another man

Columbia police arrested Shelton Carmen-Owens on Friday night after officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of Northland Drive in reference to an assault.

Police said Owens and a man were talking about a female that was known to both of them.

The victim told police that Owens struck him in the face. Officers said they could see swelling to the victim’s eye and cheek.

Owens was taken to the Boone County Jail and faces possible charges of domestic assault.
