Columbia firefighters said no one was injured in a vehicle fire Monday morning.

The vehicle was near the intersection of Battle Avenue and St. Charles Road.

Firefighters said when they arrived shortly after 7:30 a.m., the car was fully engulfed in flames.

ABC 17 News crews saw both a Boone County deputy and Columbia police officers at the scene.

Firefighters said it took about five minutes and about 250 gallons of water to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters said a Boone County Fire Protection District tanker engine was also called to the scene as a precaution.

ABC 17 News is working to find out if police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the abandoned car catching fire.
