A year ago: December 16th’s freezing drizzle event

What were you doing this time last year? If you were in mid-Missouri, you probably can’t forget the ice covered streets that nearly shut down the city.

On December 16, 2016 mid-Missouri saw about one HUNDREDTH of an inch of freezing drizzle that severely impacted schools, businesses and roadways.

What exactly happened that day that caught so many by surprise? Meteorologist Brigit Mahoney gives an inside look at what caused such chaos.
