Miller County man charged with pulling a knife on deputies, resisting arrest

A Miller County man has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest after deputies found multiple knives in his possession.

Deputies arrested John Melton after officers were dispatched to a report of trespassing in the 2900 block of Old Tuscumbia Road.

Officers said when they encountered Melton, he pulled a fixed blade knife and threatened them.

Deputies said after they arrested Melton they found two open pocket knives in Melton’s left pocket. Officers also found a 14 inch hatchet on his person.

Melton is currently being in the Miller County Jail held in lieu of a $75,000 bond and a no bond probation violation.
