Camden County deputies arrest man accused of stealing multiple items from car
Camden County deputies arrested Gerald Warnock on Monday after officers were dispatched to a vehicle that had been broken into in the 900 block of North Business Route 5.
According to the probable cause statement, deputies were able to quickly determine that Warnock was the suspect because of surveillance footage and multiple encounters with him in the past.
Deputies said multiple items were taken from the car including, an iPad, drone, a gun, portable propane buddy heater, saw, a GoPro camera, computer hard drives, $900 in cash and six credit cards.
Officers responded to Warnock’s residence in an effort to recover the stolen items. Warnock at first tried to deny the theft but when confronted with the evidence, he took the deputies to the back of the house, where he had hidden some of the stolen items, officers said.
Warnock also told deputies that he had hidden the remainder of the stolen items at another residence.
According to the probable cause statement, Warnock has had several prior felony convictions including, stealing, forgery, burglary and resisting arrest.
Warnock was charged with stealing a firearm, stealing more than $750 and unlawful possession of a firearm.
