Osage County R-II schools go on brief lockdown

UPDATE 12:20 pm: School officials said the lockdown was caused by a man trying to gain entry into the high school to speak to a student that he was “unhappy” with.

Officials said the man was refused entry but would not leave the campus and tried to get into the student’s car.

The man disappeared on campus and could not be located but was located by police at a residence later in the morning, officials said.

Officials said the students were never in danger.
