UPDATE: Man wanted in Callaway County sex abuse investigation, found

UPDATE 12/5: Callaway County deputies announced on Tuesday that Laird was arrested in Sullivan.

UPDATE 11/28: Deputies report that Laird is no longer in Callaway County.

Crimestopper tips have led authorities to work with a different law enforcement agency to make an arrest.

ORIGINAL STORY: On Wednesday, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office said it was searching for a man accused of sex crimes against children.

The Callaway County prosecuting attorney charged Christopher Laird with two counts of child molestation and one count of sodomy after a joint investigation with the State of Missouri Children’s Division near Holts Summit.

Laird allegedly has ties to Callaway, Crawford, and Franklin counties.

Anyone with information on where he might be is asked to call their local law enforcement department.
