Columbia man arrested for burglary, breaking window and more, police say

A Columbia man was arrested Friday night after police received reports of a burglary on Hanover Boulevard, police said.

Columbia police said they were called to the 1600 block of Hanover Boulevard around 9:20 p.m. for reports of a burglary.

When police arrived in the area, they found that Timothy Stemper, 34, of Columbia, forced open the front door of the residence, destroyed the door jamb and assaulted the resident by shoving the female victim in the torso, police said.

Police said Stemper also broke a window in the 1600 block of Hanover Boulevard because he was apparently mad at the victim.

Police arrested Stemper for second-degree property damage, first-degree burglary and fourth-degree assault.
