Jefferson City Council approves tax break for Axium Plastics

Members of the Jefferson City Council approved a tax break through Chapter 100 bonds for Axium Plastics at Monday night’s meeting.

The plant, located at 355 N. Shamrock Road, has already started work on an expansion project.

Axium Plastics will receive a 75% tax break for equipment it bought during the first seven years. The company will also receive a 75% tax break on property it buys for 15 years.

The expansion project is expected to cost Axium Plastics around $26 million.

The company said the project is expected to bring up to 70 new jobs to Jefferson City.
