Columbia police report 126 guns stolen from vehicles in 2017

Columbia police reported on Monday that 126 guns have been stolen from vehicles since the beginning of the year.

Police said they took two more reports on stolen firearms last week.

Officers ask residents to be responsible gun owners and to always lock them up.

A spokesperson for the police department said, ” Let’s work to keep guns out of the hands of criminals.”

Columbia police previously reported that three guns were stolen during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
