Boone County deputy involved in rollover crash on southbound Route B

A Boone County Sheriff’s Department patrol vehicle was involved in a minor injury crash while conducting an emergency response on southbound Route B on Monday morning.

ABC17 previously reported that a Boone County sheriff’s deputy and a volunteer firefighter were involved in a rollover crash on Route B near Flamingo Drive.

Officials with the sheriff’s department said the crash happened when the deputy vehicle was passing a southbound Toyota Sienna and the Toyota turned into the path of the patrol vehicle.

Officers said the deputy swerved to avoid major impact, but was unable to avoid a collision.

The deputy lost control of the car, left the roadway, struck several trees and overturned, officers said.

The deputy received minor injuries, while the driver of the Toyota was not injured, officers said.

Officers said the deputy was not responding to the fatality crash on Route B when the crash happened.
