6-year-old seriously hurt in suspected drunk driving crash

An Owensville man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated Saturday afternoon after a rollover crash that sent himself and his six-year-old passenger to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Cody Miller, 26, was driving southbound on Highway 89 when he went off the right edge of the road, overcorrected and then went off the left side of the road.

The car rolled several times before coming to a rest on its wheels.

The six-year-old boy, who was not wearing a seatbelt or in a car seat according to troopers, was flown to a hospital in St. Louis. Miller was taken to a hospital in Jefferson City.

Troopers arrested Miller on suspicion of DWI resulting in serious physical injury, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in a crash, driving without insurance, not wearing a seat belt and failure to secure a child.
