Galloway reports 22 local governments and taxing districts failed to file financial reports

Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway announced on Tuesday that she issued monthly reports detailing the compliance of local governments and other political subdivisions with financial reporting laws.

Galloway said the report includes cities, towns and villages while the other lists political subdivisions such as water, fire protection and other taxing districts.

The entities are required to file annual financial reports with the auditor’s office within six months of the end of their fiscal year.

24 local governments and 58 other taxing districts were required to file by Oct. 31. Galloway said 22 of the entities failed to file their reports.

Village of Gentry and Village of Ionia in Benton County were two of the 22 entities that failed to file.
