Mizzou claims Battle Line Rivalry trophy after record setting performance
The Mizzou football team was down as many as 14 points, but the Tigers came back to win a wild game against Arkansas, 48-45, to claim the Battle Line Rivalry trophy for the second straight year.
Tucker McCann kicked a 19-yard field goal to give the Tigers the lead with five seconds left. MU has now won six games in a row. The Tigers finished the season with a 7-5 record.
Mizzou quarterback Drew Lock broke the Mizzou and SEC single season touchdown records. He finished the game 25-42 for 448 yards and five touchdowns. He now has 43 on the season with a bowl game left to play.
Running back Ish Witter carried the ball 39 times for 170 yards and a touchdown.
Freshman Albert Okwuegbunam caught five passes for 63 yards and two touchdowns. The Illinois native passed Jeremy Maclin for the most TD receptions by a freshman in Mizzou history. He now has 11.
Wide receiver Emanuel Hall hauled in two touchdowns in the first half, but he left the game with a hamstring injury. Senior J’Mon Moore led the team with 10 catches for 160 yards and a score.
Saturday marked Mizzou’s first ever win at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Mizzou is the first SEC team ever to start the season 1-5 and finish the season with six straight wins.
Mizzou will now wait to find out which bowl it will attend. The Tigers will likely go to one of the following bowls: Liberty Bowl (Memphis, TN), Birmingham Bowl (Birmingham, AL), Texas Bowl (Houston, TX), Music City Bowl (Nashville, TN), Belk Bowl (Charlotte, NC), TaxSlayer Bowl (Jacksonville, FL), Independence Bowl (Shreveport, LA), or the Outback Bowl (Tampa Bay, FL).
