Crews respond to crash on Hwy 63 near Hartsburg

UPDATE 12 pm: According to the traffic crash report, the crash happened when a Chevrolet Malibu struck the rear of a Subaru Crosstrek.

The Subaru traveled off the right side of the highway, struck a road sign and overturned, troopers said.

The driver of the Chevrolet had minor injuries and refused medical treatment. The car had moderate damage.

The driver of the Subaru had minor injuries and refused medical treatment. The car had extensive damage.

UPDATE – 8:30 A.M.: Emergency crews cleared the scene of the crash on Highway 63 near Hartsburg.

ORIGINAL: Crews from Southern Boone County Fire Protection District, University Hospital Ambulance Service and Boone Hospital Center Ambulance were dispatched to southbound Hwy 63 near Westbrook Dr. Wednesday morning for a reported car crash.

Early reports indicate the crash is causing heavy traffic delays and that one lane was shut down as a result.

ABC 17 News has a crew headed to the scene that will work to learn how many cars were involved and if any injuries occurred.
