Mizzou fans react to Michael Porter Jr. likely missing remainder of season

Mizzou basketball fans say they will continue to support the team, regardless whether star player Michael Porter Jr. is playing or not.

Porter Jr. will likely miss the remainder of the season due to surgery. The procedure is a microdiscectomy of the L3-L4 spinal discs, which has a projected recovery time of three-four months.

ABC 17 News spoke with Mizzou fans that say they will still support the team.

“It’s going to be a little different than we anticipated how it might have been, but I have confidence in the coach and the team,” John Kabrick said.

“I’m a Mizzou fan, I ride them out. I’m a ride or die fan,” Dewayne Fisher said.

Fans also said they didn’t believe this would change too much of the attendance of the game.

“It won’t affect none of that because you know what, if you’re a true Mizzou fan you are still going to support them even if they win or lose,” Fisher said.

As of right now, tickets are still available online for the next home game at Mizzou arena against the Miami Redhawks.
