Judge sentences Jefferson City man in deadly 2018 shooting of Lincoln University student
COLE COUNTY Mo. (KMIZ)
A Cole County judge sentenced a Jefferson City man to prison this week in the deadly 2018 shooting of a Lincoln University student.
Michael Bouchee pleaded guilty Monday to felony charges of first-degree accessory to involuntary manslaughter, unlawful use of a weapon and accessory to delivery of a controlled substance.
Judge Cotton Walker sentenced Bouchee to 10 years in prison for the accessory to the involuntary manslaughter charge and four years each for the other two charges. Bouchee is expected to serve the sentences concurrently.
A jury indicted Bouchee in 2019 on charges of second-degree murder and other crimes in the shooting death of 23-year-old D'Angelo Bratton-Bland. Bratton-Bland was shot and killed on Dec. 11, 2018, outside of a home in the 200 block of Dawson Street.
Bouchee and another man, DeAngelo Frazier, were both involved in selling marijuana at the home, according to the Jefferson City Police Department. Police said officers found more than 20 spent shell casings outside of the home.
Bratton-Bland was an innocent bystander, according to the police department. He was a senior and president of the Lincoln Student Government Association.
Frazier pleaded guilty on Jan. 28 to felony charges of accessory to second-degree murder and accessory to delivery of a controlled substance. Judge Walker sentenced Frazier to 18 years in prison.
