Mizzou football blows out Florida, wins third straight

The Mizzou football team won its third straight game on Saturday, defeating Florida 45-16. The Tigers are now 4-5 overall and 1-4 in the SEC.

ABC 17’s Tyler Murry caught up with the Tigers immediately following their win.

Junior quarterback Drew Lock went 15-20 for 228 yards. He threw three touchdowns and one interception. The Lee’s Summit native is now second all-time at MU with 58 passing touchdowns. He trails Chase Daniel, 101, by 43 touchdowns.

Running back Larry Rountree rushed for 83 yards on 15 carries. The freshman had a career high three touchdowns. Senior Ish Witter added 83 yards on 17 carries. He caught one touchdown.

Emanuel Hall led all MU receivers with 113 yards on 5 catches, including a 50-yard connection from Drew Lock in the third quarter.

On defense, the Tigers had eight tackles for loss and one sack. MU held its opponent to just one touchdown for the second straight game. For the first time this season, Mizzou won the turnover margin (2-1).

Despite the win, Mizzou’s attendance was 49,154. It was the smallest home crowd for a conference game since 2005.

The Tigers need to win two of their final three games in order to become bowl eligible. Mizzou will host Tennessee next Saturday at 6:30 p.m. for senior night.

After that, the Tigers have a road matchup at Vanderbilt on Nov. 18 (Time TBD). MU will close out the season in Fayetteville, Arkansas for the Battle Line Rivalry game against Arkansas on Nov. 24 at 1:30 p.m.
