Child hit by vehicle in Audrain County

The Mexico Department of Public Safety was called to SSM Health/St. Mary’s Hospital in Audrain regarding a child who had been hit by a car.

According to the department’s Facebook page, a 3-year-old girl ran into the 200 block of W Love Street and was hit by a 2010 Toyota being driven by Austin Bulson, 22, of Mexico.

The juvenile’s mother said that the child ran from the home while the residents were moving furniture and that she felt Bulson did everything he could to avoid the collision.

Authorities were not called at the time of the crash because they did not feel the 3-year-old was injured.

The child’s mother eventually took the child to the hospital because the child was complaining of pain.

The incident is under investigation.
