Walmart employee arrested, accused of stealing merchandise
An employee of the Walmart Superstore on West Broadway is facing felony stealing charges Thursday.
Columbia police were called to the store by the Walmart Asset Protection Manager, who reported 23-year-old Raven Sharp, a cashier, had been stealing from the store for more than a month.
The manager told police that Sharp would not scan items or void scanned items and then let several repeat customers take the items for free.
Police said the manager reported 22 separate incidents which resulted in a loss of more than $2,600.
Sharp was arrested just before 7 p.m. Thursday for felony stealing and has since bonded out.
