Patients being seen for gastrointestinal illnesses in Columbia

Over the past week in Boone County, doctors have seen an increase in patients with gastrointestinal illnesses.

Dr. Tara Flynn with MU Health said it’s mostly vomiting and diarrhea.

Flynn said, “Most of the cases are viral, but some patients have come in with fevers, blood in their stool and signs of dehydration.”
