Westminster announces Fletcher Lamkin as new president
Westminster College announced on Monday that Fletcher Lamkin will take over as president later this year.
Lamkin is currently the president of Virginia University at Parkersburg and previously served as president of Kansas Wesleyan University.
Lamkin used to work at Westminster from 2000 to 2007 in administration and helped with fundraising and campus improvements.
Lamkin said Westminster is the only school that could have induced him to leave his present position.
College officials said the administration is excited to see Lamkin return.
Kurt Jefferson, director of the Churchill Institute for Global Engagement at Westminster, said, “Lamkin led Westminster to its greatest era of student growth.”
