Heating up through Saturday, weekend storms

TONIGHT: Skies will remain mostly clear with patchy fog developing in valleys as low temperatures drop into the mid to upper 50s. Winds will stay under 8 mph from the southeast.

FRIDAY: It will feel more like summer as temperatures quickly climb into the low to mid 80s in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies. It will feel slightly humid as dew points rise to the lower 60s and winds come in from the south at 8-13 mph.

EXTENDED: It will stay mild Friday night with lows in the mid 60s. There is a chance of t-storms late Friday night into early Saturday north of HWY 24 where there is a chance of isolated severe storms with large hail or strong wind gusts. These will be ongoing into early Saturday morning before ending by mid-morning. It will be a hot day Saturday with high temperatures reaching the upper 80s under partly cloudy skies. Later in the afternoon, a line of showers and t-storms in northwest Missouri will move to the southeast and into Mid-Missouri after 5 PM. These storms could be strong to severe with the damaging winds and large hail the primary threats and heavy rain. A tornado is also possible. The storms will move to the southeast through early Sunday morning as they weaken and end by mid-morning Sunday near I-44. Rainfall amounts of .50″ to .75″ are likely Saturday night with a stripe of 1 to 1.5″ possible along and just south of I-70. Cooler air will move in Sunday keeping our high temperatures in the mid to upper 60s with clearing skies. The work week will start mild and dry with high temperatures in the upper 60s.
