Moniteau deputies arrest two accused of having drugs and outstanding warrants

The Moniteau County Sheriff’s Department arrested Daniel Johnson and Briann Matheis after deputies were called to Stone Creek Road in Enon for reports of suspicious activity.

Deputies said when they arrived on scene, they saw a car parked at the end of the dead-end road with Matheis and Johnson inside.

Deputies said that after speaking with Matheis and Johnson, they were given consent to search the vehicle and found marijuana.

Deputies said they also found methamphetamine on Matheis.

There was another package found that had a controlled substance inside that deputies could not identify, so it was sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Lab for analysis, deputies said.

Johnson had given a false name and had two outstanding warrants for his arrest, deputies said.

Both were taken into custody and were transported to the Moniteau County Jail.
