The Supreme Court of Missouri has granted a hearing in the Shayne Healea case

The Supreme Court of Missouri has granted a hearing in the Shayne Healea case after the attorney general’s office requested one.

The attorney general’s office said the court of appeals went too far when they kicked them off the case for a mishandling of some evidence.

No date has been set yet for that hearing.

Healea, the Moniteau County prosecutor, has faced felony charges of assault and leaving the scene of an accident since October 2014. Columbia police accused him of trying to drive away from Addison’s restaurant after backing his truck into a wall, injuring four people inside. Officers suspected Healea was drunk at the time.
