Video appears to show bus driver stepping on student’s feet

UPDATE 3:10 pm: First Student Officials spoke with ABC17 and said they have reviewed the video and also spoke with the driver and student involved and determined there was no ill intent. It was playful banter and First Student says the driver has a good rapport with students.

ORIGINAL: Some parents in Jefferson City are concerned after video of an exchange between a bus driver and student surfaced on Facebook.

The video was taken by a Jefferson City Public Schools student and appears to show the feet of a grown person stepping on those of another student.

The mother of the student who recorded the video told ABC 17 News the adult in the video was the bus driver and that it was not the first time this type of action has occurred.

“If you watch the video and listen to the video, it’s pretty self-explanatory,” said Frank Underwood with First Student Bus Company. “The woman who posted the video is not even associated with the student involved.”

Underwood told ABC 17 News that the company was reviewing the situation and would be releasing an official statement Wednesday.

ABC 17 News has contacted Jefferson City Public Schools for a comment.
