St. Louis Cardinals seek certification for anti-terrorism measures
The St. Louis Cardinals are looking for Busch Stadium to become a certified location under the federal Safety Act with a plan to heighten security and anti-terrorism measures there.
This certification would protect the Cardinals from lawsuits if a terrorist attack were to occur despite the anti-terrorism measures in place.
Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Missouri, wrote to the Department of Homeland Security in support of the team’s plans and application.
This follows the Oct. 1 mass shooting in Las Vegas that has caused great concern nationwide about safety at entertainment events.
The Cardinals have yet to comment on their plans, but this could encourage other venues to heighten their security as well.
