CPD arrests woman accused of having drugs, stolen car

UPDATE 5:45 P.M.: Frazier has been charged with first degree tampering with a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana.

ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police arrested Miranda Frazier just before 3 p.m. Tuesday after they say she was driving a stolen car.

With the help of an automatic license plate reader system, officers first spotted the Chrysler 300 traveling east on Blue Ridge Road.

Police said they found Frazier, who admitted to having driven the car.

When police searched the vehicle, they say they found a purse with Frazier’s personal items in it.

Investigators say they also retrieved an Altoids tin with “a crystal-like substance inside” that tested positive for methamphetamine.

According to police, other items that were found in the car include: a used syringe, several different pairs of gardening gloves and a large set of bolt cutters.

Frazier was arrested on suspicion of possession of burglar’s tools, possession of controlled substance, receiving stolen property, stealing, first-degree tampering and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
