Lock’s big game not enough, Mizzou falls on the road against Kentucky

Mizzou football coach Barry Odom nearly got his first road win as a head coach on Saturday. But, the Tigers fell 40-34 against Kentucky. Mizzou is now 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the SEC.

MU quarterback Drew Lock drove the Tigers down the field in the final minute of the game, but the Tigers ultimately came up empty.

J’Mon Moore caught a pass as time began to wind down. A Kentucky defender appeared to swat the ball from Moore’s hands causing more time to tick down before Mizzou’s next play. Here is Moore’s reaction after the game.

Despite the loss, Mizzou made a lot of progress on Saturday. MU had scored only three touchdowns in its last three games. Tonight, the Tigers had four.

Quarterback Drew Lock had one of the best games of his career. He went 22-42 for 355 yards and three touchdowns. He now has 40 touchdown passes for his career, which is fourth all-time in program history.

Wide receiver Emanuel Hall had a breakout game as well. He caught four passes for 129 yards and a touchdown. Senior wide out J’Mon Moore finished with seven catches for 86 yards and a touchdown.

The Tigers have now lost 9 straight SEC road games. Mizzou has also lost its last four games following a bye week.

Mizzou will travel to Georgia next Saturday to take on the Bulldogs. Kickoff will be at 6:30 p.m. CT from Sanford Stadium.
