Jefferson City Gun Show draws small crowd

The Pro-mo-tions Jefferson City Gun Show drew light crowds over the weekend.

Organizers say the gun and knife sales event saw a small crowd, and even closed an hour early on Saturday. Event organizers also said that it is unlikely the low-turnout was due to Sunday’s mass shooting in Las Vegas. One vendor said there were other gun shows in Missouri drawing crowds away from the capital city.

Following Sunday’s mass shooting in Las Vegas gun shows have drawn protesters, including on in Reno, Nevada. The gun show reportedly went as scheduled, without interruption by protesters.

The NRA recently came out in support of the regulation of bump-stocks, which the Las Vegas shooter used to increase his guns’ rate of fire. There were no bump-stocks on sale at the Pro-mo-tions gun show Saturday, according to event organizers.
