Boone County man arrested, accused of crashing into a parked vehicle

Boone County deputies arrested Morgan Reifsteck on Thursday after deputies responded to a vehicle crash near 61 Second St. in Hartsburg.

According to the probable cause statement, Reifsteck was reported to have been involved in a motor vehicle accident with a parked car.

Deputies said the passenger who was in the bed of the truck Reifsteck was operating had to be taken to University Hospital with possible neck injuries.

Deputies said when they met Reifsteck, they could smell a strong odor of intoxicants.

Reifsteck admitted to deputies that he had consumed alcohol.

Deputies said they performed a field-sobriety test on Reifsteck, where multiple clues of impairment were observed.

Deputies said Reifsteck gave a valid breath sample of .124 BRAC.

Reifsteck admitted to deputies that he had not maintained insurance on his vehicle and was driving when the crash happened.

Reifsteck was charged with with DWI resulting in physical injury.
