Suspected thief arrested at Columbia pawn shop
A 21-year-old suspect is in custody after Columbia police officers say he was caught with stolen items.
CPD officers told ABC 17 News that they were dispatched to the 4800 block of Aspen Ridge Drive just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The victim told police that his handgun was stolen out of his vehicle that was parked in the driveway of his home.
Later that afternoon, officers were called to Family Pawn in the 900 block of Business Loop 70 East.
Police say 21-year-old Orrion Moody was arrested just before 2:30 p.m. while attempting to pawn stolen golf clubs.
Moody gave police permission to search his vehicle, in which officers say they found the stolen handgun.
Officers say they also found a misdemeanor amount of marijuana in the vehicle.
Moody was arrested on suspicion of felony stealing and possession of marijuana.
