Several agencies responded to the 12450 block of North Route J on Thursday morning for a flipped car on fire.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol spoke with ABC 17 crews on the scene. Troopers confirmed a car drove off the curve, flipped over, and went airborne before landing upside down in an embankment. A person nearby called 911 after seeing the car on fire.

Boone County fire officials and Boone County deputies were also on the scene. The car was smoking, and crews appeared to be searching a nearby wooded area. The driver was not found.
